With the Chesapeake School Board elections approaching this November 2026, your contribution to education advocacy is vital.
I believe that being a member of a local school board is a position that requires a great deal of time, energy, and commitment. I also believe as cultures change, technology advances and the business world evolves, the educational needs of our students will need to be consistently evaluated.
If I am honored to be elected to serve as a member of the Chesapeake School Board, I will commit to serve our citizens with the kind of passion and commitment that has been the hallmark of our success.
As the daughter of an immigrant father who pursued the American Dream and became a proud citizen of the United States, I was raised with a deep appreciation for the opportunity, perseverance, and the freedoms that make our country so special. For over 35 years, my family and I have been part of the Chesapeake community, where I grew up attending public schools that laid the foundation for my future.
I earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Old Dominion University and later pursued a Masters in Business Administration (MBA). For the past 18 years, I have enjoyed a distinguished global business career in the Defense Industry, working in offices from Atlanta to Washington, DC, and traveling the world.
Chesapeake has always been the place I want to call home; it remains one of the best cities in Virginia to raise a family. As we approach the Chesapeake School Board elections, I am committed to education advocacy and ensuring our community collaborates for a brighter future. I believe in making common sense common again by seeking practical solutions to the challenges we face. Strong schools are essential, and I stand ready to contribute to that vision. I believe together we can create the best opportunities for our children.
None of this would be possible without your support. Any donation, no matter the amount, helps us reach our campaign goals. Contributions of $10, $20, $50, or $100 are a great start for education advocacy. If you're able to volunteer your time—whether by placing signs, hosting a small fundraising event, or knocking on doors—I would be so grateful for your help. Together, we can make a difference. Remember to Vote Mina A Nolen!
